What formulas does this matched betting calculator use?

This calculator uses the simple, normal matched betting formula to work out the lay bet stake, liability, and your bet position after the bet has been placed. It does not calculate Free Bet Stake Not Returned (SNR) or Free Bet Stake Returned (SR) calculations.

Formula to calculate lay bet stake

Lay Stake = Back Odds * Back Stake / (Lay Odds – Commission)

Formula to calculate liability

Liability = Back Stake * (Lay Odds – 1)

Formula to calculate back bet win position

Back Bet Win Position = Back Stake * (Back Bet Odds – 1) – Lay Stake * (Lay Bet Odds – 1)

Formula to calculate lay bet win position

Lay Bet Win Position = Lay Stake * (1 – Commission) - Back Stake
